Ecologist

This is an exciting, full-time and on-site opportunity for an Ecologist to join Exo Environmental and support us on projects at a local and national scale. The Ecologist will be responsible for working with the team to conduct ecology surveys, Environmental Clerk of Works (ECOW), and undertaking BNG assessments.

The post holder should show excellent attention to detail, have a good understanding of the complexities in the environment, have strong IT skills and be able to meet project deadlines. With our wide range of projects, we require an individual with a strong work ethic. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will meet the following criteria;

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in ecology or a closely related subject

  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in ecology

  • Developing field skills in line with the CIEEM Competency Framework

  • Strong knowledge of key environmental legislation and policy

  • Excellent report writing and IT skills and experience of reviewing reports

  • Full, clean driving licence

  • CIEEM membership at the appropriate level

Desirable

  • BNG assessments

  • Environmental Clerk of Works (ECOW) experience

  • Protected species licences (bats, GCN, Water voles, etc.)

  • EPS licence holder

  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) experience
