Ecologist

This is an exciting, full-time and on-site opportunity for an Ecologist to join Exo Environmental and support us on projects at a local and national scale. The Ecologist will be responsible for working with the team to conduct ecology surveys, Environmental Clerk of Works (ECOW), and undertaking BNG assessments.

The post holder should show excellent attention to detail, have a good understanding of the complexities in the environment, have strong IT skills and be able to meet project deadlines. With our wide range of projects, we require an individual with a strong work ethic. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will meet the following criteria;

Essential Requirements

• Degree in ecology or a closely related subject

• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in ecology

• Developing field skills in line with the CIEEM Competency Framework

• Strong knowledge of key environmental legislation and policy

• Excellent report writing and IT skills and experience of reviewing reports

• Full, clean driving licence

• CIEEM membership at the appropriate level

Desirable

• BNG assessments

• Environmental Clerk of Works (ECOW) experience

• Protected species licences (bats, GCN, Water voles, etc.)

• EPS licence holder

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) experience

Marketing and Content Lead

This is an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Content specialist to join the team and support both Exo Environmental & Exo Engineering with the development and maintenance of marketing and publicity resources.

Responsibilities cover a broad spectrum of outputs and activities, including but not limited to:

• Production of photo and video content, including pre-production planning and script work, capturing content, video editing including overlay graphics, colour grading and sound work

• Designing video thumbnails, creating and amending posters, brochures and other promotional material

• Obtaining photography stills, video and time-lapse video in the field

• Assistance with implementing marketing strategy, including creation of blogs posts and regular LinkedIn posts

• Website design and editing using Squarespace

• Attendance of relevant conferences and events to support lead generation and client engagement.

The applicant should show excellent attention to detail, possess strong computer skills and be able to work to strict deadlines. Our variable workload and range of projects warrants an individual with a strong work ethic, with the successful candidate ideally having 1+ years of practical experience, coming from previous video work, freelance work or similar. Specific skills required for the role include:

Essential Criteria:

• Videography / Photography experience

• Editing experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro/After Effects and Adobe Photoshop)

• Knowledge and experience using cameras and sound equipment

• Excellent written and verbal use of the English language

Useful but non-essential criteria:

• Experience with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator

• Website design experience

• Knowledge of social media marketing principles and best practice

• A full driving licence and access to a car
