Coastal erosion is not only an issue in towns and cities but also affects MOD operational areas. Key to national defence and security, protecting MOD assets is seen as a priority infrastructure improvement program by the UK government. One such example of where coastal dynamics are threatening the integrity of MOD infrastructure is at Fingringhoe Ranges.

In 2023 Exo Environmental installed a series of brushwood fences on Packing Shed Island and Cob Marsh Island, located off Mersea island, within the Blackwater estuary, Essex.

Due to habitat loss and predation by invasive species, the water vole is now seldom seen on British waterways.

Earlier this year Exo continued our collaboration with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trusts Wilder Humber Project, which aims to restore functioning peatland in South Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.
